The Bazar team just shipped new features for permaweb creators. Now Bazar supports music atomic assets with custom audio renderings and seamless compatibility with the Wander mobile wallet. And users can now, directly in the Bazar UI, delegate their AO yield to the Bazar fair launch token, $PIXL. Learn more about these updates in this article.
$AO delegation in Bazar
The new delegation page introduces a simple way to support Bazar’s mission: empowering creators through permanent ownership, transparent licensing, and programmable data.
If you’re holding $AO, you can now delegate your yield directly to Bazar. That yield is used to support platform development and continue growing the permaweb creator economy.
Users can delegate the AO yield generated from yield-bearing assets ($stETH, $DAI, and $USDS) to Bazar, and in return the users earn $PIXL tokens. $PIXL can also be earned by maintaining a buying streak on Bazar. Since the fair launch went live, 75% of the remaining $PIXL supply is allocated to the fair launch process, so delegating is the best bet to earn $PIXL. Learn more about the $PIXL fair launch here.
Revamping music on the permaweb
Bazar is not just for goofy JPEGs. It is the place to go to trade and interact with digital content. Independent musicians have been struggling to make ends meet in the era of streaming. Crypto primitives offer new solutions for musicians to retain ownership of their work and set the terms for how their music is licensed.
Bazar has had all the tools there, from music renderers to the Universal Data License, but it was missing a few key parts to make it attractive to artists, one being the ability to customize the cover art. Now, with this latest update, musicians and anyone uploading audio files can attach additional music metadata.
This metadata shows the album cover art on the audio file and integrates with a revamped music player. Now Bazar feels more like a modern streaming service, with the benefits of being permanently on Arweave and computed on AO. Give it a try by uploading an audio file on Bazar Studio.
Bazar live in Wander mobile wallet
Bazar uploads now work seamlessly on Wander’s mobile app (Android and iOS). This gives mobile users full access to the decentralized creative economy.
The ability to interact with Bazar on mobile wallets gives creators and users the freedom to access the permaweb wherever they are. Gone are the days of needing technical knowledge to use crypto apps. The permaweb is accessible through Android and iOS mobile phones, and with Wander and Beacon wallet, users can leverage the growing DeFi and social ecosystem. Download the Wander wallet here.
Shaping permaweb culture
The permaweb emerged as developers learned that Arweave can store more than just static files, it can store web applications that can all communicate together in a new web backed by Arweave. The idea to build a new permanent web as an alternative to the existing web is a bold one. With a decentralized supercomputer through AO and an arbitrarily scalable data storage network with Arweave, it is possible to build a better web that stays true to the values of freedom of expression and ownership.
Bazar is one of the early projects to show how digital content can be transacted on the permaweb. This will continue to grow and evolve, and Bazar and its team will be there to experiment and integrate the latest tech to be compatible across the ecosystem. The permaweb is still a majority technical community, but Bazar is beginning to bring in creatives eager to try out new platforms. These latest integrations are just a few of many more on the roadmap for Bazar.
